Clearwater Community Sailing Center
Ideally located bayfront across the street from Sand Key Park
A casual beachy location, the sailing center offers flexibility for a variety of event styles. The second level Carlisle Room is fully air conditioned with seating for up to 100 guests comfortably with a small dance floor.
A large new covered Veranda addition can increase the guest capacity to over 150. The veranda has ceiling fans and roll down protective clear sides to insulate the space from high wind.
It features round guest tables along with long tables and NEW padded ballroom chairs.
If the beach across the street or a church are not options, you can hold your ceremony on the verandah and have guests venture to the bottom level for a receiving line with you while chairs are positioned around guest tables.
Two major hotels along with a number of vacation rental condos are very close by.
Cost: $1550 for only SIX hours of set-up, event time, and breakdown time for both second level areas. Adding an additional one or two hours is recommended:
$250 per hour.
Events must end at 11 p.m. with cleanup concluded by 12 midnight.
Dance floor is an extra charge but Veranda can be utilized in cooler weather.
Don't plan on having guests walk from a ceremony at Sand Key. It is driving distance; all pakr parking is metered
Limited kitchen area: it a kitchenette within the Carlisle
There is only a single woman's and men's bathroom on the second floor. Have someone direct guests to the larger restrooms on the bottom level.
No candles or open flames are allowed on site. Make arrangements for LED lights on guest tables.
Also, there is no indirect lighting inside or out after dark other than flourescents. It would be important to have additional lighting indoors for events starting at dusk.
Also, there is NO KITCHEN, just a built in kitchenette with a full size refrigerator. Although there is a tall black curtain section to hide it, this reduces the amount of inside space for tables and chairs.
If needing to utilize the Veranda, consider the time of year you will be holding your event.
Utilize as much of the Veranda area as possible for bar, buffet, dancing if you plan to use the indoors for guest seating.
